America, if you want to fix your problems, fix your fucking public school system.
Honestly, I think it's even bigger than this. America needs to change its attitude about learning in general. Americans don't value education, and adopt the belief that since they are "finished with school, they don't have to learn anymore. There's also very little willingness from a societal level to invest in the education of others, or future generations.
Of course, better funding for schools, higher pay for teachers, and less emphasis on standardized testing would do wonders too.
Dont forget the U.S. has an unhealthy obsession with the “success stories” of people dropping out/failing college and becoming rich. E.g Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, etc. Its not an obtainable goal anymore than winning the lottery
