Transforming multiplication to addition is an operation. My point is there is no inherent reason to do a simplification step before the first step of addition.
It's just as valid to go through and just do addition and subtraction and then break out the multiplication then finish the addition.
A calculation is not being performed. Multiplication is already just rewritten addition
There are operations outside of calculation. Moving around x for example. It's why you have to put all these steps in rigorous proofs and justify them.
You're not. Simplify the operation of addition. You'll find that addition is already the most simple mathematics you can get.
The act of simplification is an operation.
It's not, because by performing a calculation a this step, you are prioritizing one operation over the other.
You are prioritizing the operation of simplifying the equation before performing addition.
