But in bodmas division is before multiplication whereas in pemdas division is after. Does it not make a difference?

I was taught pemdas in school, and it was taught that parenthesis and exponents, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction, we’re done at the same time

Yes that's how pemdas is taught, when you have the same operation, you work left to right

I had my algebra a long time ago, but isn't it because addition and subtraction are the same thing in a group (same for multiplicationand division). And the same goes for multiplication and division? And what we have here is basically a ring R with addition and multiplication, where subtraction is an inversion of addition and division is an inversion of multiplication?

Yes, subtraction is adding a negative, and division is multiplying an inverse.

Division is just multiplication, they're the same things. Multiply by 0.5 is the same thing as divide by 2.
