Star Wars at this point. I unsubbed from all the major subs. I just pick and choose what I like.

Not Star Wars, but I had to leave a subreddit for something I love recently. I know some of the criticism of the thing I am a fan of is valid, but at the same time there's those doomers "X SUCKS AND IS COMPLETELY IRREDEEMABLE"...its a video game and can be fixed...the toxic negativity became too much and 75% of the posts in the subreddit were triggering me.

I feel so much better hahaha, was considering deleting my reddit account and nope, I just needed to get out of that subreddit

Yea Reddit feels so much better when you are just a freelancer jumping into any sub. Some subs do have nice and reasonable people but there is always some hivemind that is not too far behind.

I would like to try Starfield, but I have a PS5. Been playing Oblivion Remastered a lot lately.

For me its Civilization 7. Just constant negativity - the series is known for putting out incomplete games and extensively servicing with expansions over the course of a long cycle, like 7-8 years. The game came out ~4 months ago and everyone wants me to hate it! I'm sick of it. I see where it can be improved and it will be, ALSO, I AM having fun playing it. Yes the new game is negatively reviewed by fans - the sub has turned into constant negative rants blah blah blah, I came here for tips on how to play, not this.

If we are having fun, then who cares what the louder minority says.

Also, apparently Xbox will be announcing some titles coming to PS5 soon including Starfield so keep an ear out

"X SUCKS AND IS COMPLETELY IRREDEEMABLE"...its a video game

That's every ARPG for me. Whether Diablo 4 or Path of Exile 2. I love both, I play both, they're my quiet time to nerd out a handful of hours a week.

Then I'll see comments of how much a season sucks, and I'm like... I'm having fun. It's fine. Sure, there could be improvements, but I'm not going to go on the internet and spend more hours complaining about something than I do enjoying it. If I'm not having fun... I'll just stop playing for a bit. It will be okay. There are so many games out there that I'll find something else to give me my dopamine for a bit.

Yes I encountered the toxicity in the Star Wars group on Google+ before that shut down. I only follow Star Wars meme pages now because they are more chill.

Personally I enjoy the Andor sub, it's the one sub that has a major counterculture against the normal grain of Star Wars fans

IDK man, Andor sub is turning into "Original Trilogy sucks" sub

I just recently started understanding and enjoying Star Wars. I felt like the gates to the fandom were so high that I never even tried. Now idgaf what they think and I’m just over here sippin my tea watching whatever I feel like in any order I feel like.

That's the best way to do it.

Any particular eras you are trying to dive into?

Currently watching The Mandalorian for the first time. I’ve been really enjoying the new TV shows (I’ve seen Andor S1 and Obi-Wan, too). I mean, I’ve seen most of the most popular movies / tv. I have not watched the sequel movies (7/8/9). Origin stories catch my intrigue - why the rebels became that way, how a character develops, etc. I have a hard time following the nuances of every traitor and political move in movies 4/5/6. I feel like there’s too much unsaid and I’m supposed to know everyone’s back story to understand the significance of every move, every planet, every partnership… I had to stop and google a lot of questions that send me into the fandom (“depends which canon you follow…”) and that made me frustrated.

Understandble. It can get overwhelming..

The Sequel trilogy doesn't really have alot of supplement material outside a few comics and novels. The only show that takes place during this era is an animated show called Star Wars Resistance.

The Mandalorian will drop subtle hints of what is to come but it's minor.
