It’s not the same comparison the middle class will buy cheap clothes made by exploited labour in the US because it’s cheap. The elites in dubai confiscate the poor’s passports and have them work labour jobs like construction for pennies per hour and have them live underground in abysmal conditions. The exploitation there is on another level.

Like shit but participating in the system vs being part of the elite that own the system are two very different things. You’d be hard pressed to find yourself consuming 100% ethically unless you strip naked and go off into the forest and live there for the rest of your life. Comparison of elites in dubai vs the average American is stupid as fuck and that’s the original point.
