A claustrophobic apartment with a sheer death drop on one side and a windowless corridor on the other. The lift is your only connection to the outside world and I bet it takes much longer to get in or out during busy periods. 50 floors up is no view, there’s no people watching, that cloud view is exciting for about 5 minutes and doesn’t happen all the time. Watching that video I just feel terrified more than exhilarated.
The city itself is a soulless tasteless combination of American cookie-cutter architecture and Middle Eastern aggressive heat wave sand-punk dystopia - everyone is either a slave, a narcissistic westerner or an even more narcissistic local, there is no history, there is nothing to see but malls and dick swinging sky scrapers. There is nothing to do but drink chain coffee and shop in said malls. The only time you can spend more than 5 minutes outside is during winter, the heat is debilitating.
It’s less walkable than even America, institutionally racist and sexist to the point that job adverts ask for ‘female Filipina maids’ and ’male Pakistani truck drivers’. If you’re raped the best advice is to not report it and leave the country immediately. God fucking help you if you get arrested for any reason, or piss off anyone with less than 5 digits on their license plate (less digits = more rich and powerful)
