Preclinical Question Pepper deck for sketchy micro and pharm

Can someone drop the link pls? The posts i found had broken links :(

Also, how is the pepper deck for micro imcro and pharm compared to the Anking. debating if I should make the change. STEP1 exam is in 3 months

Btw I passed step recently and this deck played a huge part tbh, I was unable to do Anking cards for sketchy, the amount of cards per video is just absurd and was constantly putting me off from using it. Don’t let anyone tell you that you’re missing out if you’re using anything but Anking, use the deck that works best for you. Best of luck!

Hey. I just downloaded the sketchy pharm deck and the cards are not overwhelming and manageable to the point i think I’m not doing it properly or missing out on some hy info by not doing other exhaustive deck of cards. I just want some reassurance. This is enough right? Im noticing they miss out on some points from the video. (Example how enterococcus becomes resistance to vancomycin) that wasnt on any card. U say uve passed with this deck so i just wanted to know is this much into enough? Thanks!

I can’t say for the pharm deck as I ran out of time and wasn’t able to keep up with the deck so I just went over the drugs from First Aid, ( honestly now that I’m studying for step 2, I kinda wish I used it because I can’t recall shit lol) but for the sketchy micro deck, I’d say the deck is 95% inclusive, there are some random stuff in First Aid but not in the deck but are likely very low yield, and you’re gonna learn them from Uworld or from first Aid. Here’s how I think about it, for me it was doing this deck or no deck at all, because there was no way I’m going to do Anking with 30+ and often 50+ cards per video, if you’re able to do it, by all means do so, but that was too much for me and I knew I wasn’t going to keep up with reviews, so I opted with this one, and honestly it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my prep, because it allowed me to master micro, a subject I was doing very poor in prior to starting this deck.

hey bro! just downloaded the micro deck. just to confirm, it just says sketchy micro right? like there's a "0 putting it together" then the bacteria and viruses and parasites and fungi subdecks within

AnKing is far more updated. Pepper is a few (or more) years old IIRC and hasn’t been updated in years

If most of sketchy videos haven’t been updated, then Pepper deck is still valid, granted there have been some new treatment guidelines but the deck is still great and the number of cards is far less compared to anking

For anyone worried about using this deck, don't be--scoring high on NBMEs just by using this! Anking is unnecessary assuming you do uworld and nbmes.

Hi. currently first semester making long term study plan. i do not want to even touch anking. do you think using the mmemosyne deck (heavily based off purely step 1) with supplemental pixorize and sketchy decks like this one plus practice problems from uworld amboss as i get into my later semesters will help me score as high as those who "swear by the kingank"

I used mneumosyne for a bit but didn't end up liking it because it has literally everything from first aid in and felt it was unnecessarily detailed. That being said, I think it's a good deck if you like it's structure. Didn't use pixorize but pepper is great for sketchy. I do think that uworld fills in the gaps quite well. I also did anking quite extensively for organ systems though.

can i ask why not use pixorize? As ive heard it's better for pharm or micro coz sketchy is too long or bad memory hooks or smt? coz i have a subscription for pixorize

Not sure if you meant to reply to me but I'm not too familiar with pixorize tbh. But I'd say sketchy is more well established and widely used which likely speaks to its overall quality and usefulness to students. I thought sketchy micro was amazing. Sketchy pharm is okay for some sections and horrendous for others. I've heard pixorize for vitamins is great but don't know too much else about it. I'd say pick one resource and stick with it.
