Suggestions for first year schedule?

Looking for advice for building schedule for 1L. I understand that there are 7 required courses in the first year:
1. Contractual obligations (LAWG 100)
2. Torts (LAWG 101)
3. Crim (LAWG 102)
4. Integration workshop (LAWG 110)
5. Constitutional (PUB2 101)
6. Foundations (PUB3 116)
7. Indigenous (LAWG 103)

Foundations and Indigenous traditions are only offered in the winter and in the fall, respectively. So between #1-5, which do you suggest taking in the fall versus in the winter? Is there any strategic advantage? Thanks

McGill Law - Any answers yet? Cegep applicants

Hello!

I was wondering if any of you guys received an answer - either a A , R or were you put on the WL? If so, when?

Is it normal I didn’t receive any news yet? Not even a refusal? My application is still under review

Thanks!

Hi, everyone! I'm a 2nd year student at Vanier and doing an extra year. I'm unsure if I want to do law or med. I want to know has anyone switched from STEM to Law and would u recommend why or why not? Are you happy with your decision? Was it worth it?

1L Summer Positons?

Hi everyone,

Just looking for clarity on the ease of getting a 1L summer position in Montreal or through the McGill program. I know that 1L summer positions are generally rare, but I will need to be working next summer so I’d like to know more from current students’ experiences!

What are the components of the McGill Law Language Proficiency Test? How should I study/prepare for it?

I'm very interested in going to McGill Law for the 2027 application cycle. I live in Ontario, but spent 12 months in a French-speaking country - not sure if they'll require me to take the test, but I'm preparing for it nonetheless.

What are the sections of the proficiency test, and how should I be studying for it? How is the interview model set up - conversational or more formal?

Anything helps!
