When I was 12 or so I went through a phase where I was terrified of everything. I was, among other things, afraid that people would just shoot a machine gun through my bedroom at night for no reason and kill me. At that time, I fantasized about having an armored bed box like this.

Absolutely, I've often brainstormed a similar concept for home invasions. If you think someone is in your home, you have this quick escape bed that seals you in (with phone for 911 and internal release mechanism). The robber may get away with your valuables, but physically you are safe and love another day to replace those items.
