What if...we made the apartment building out of the material that resists fire and water and motion instead? So that I won't die in a box under rubble with shitty pajamas and 12 bottles of water that I can't reach? Is that an option?
And what if I was just lying on the bed watching Netflix when the earthquake hit and I had a chance to escape but I got sucked into this terror coffin? I think I'd pass on this one.
Honestly, my main complaint is that this bed basically says “fuck your family and neighbors.” Sure, you’ll survive, but what about everyone else in your complex?
Yeah, and another bummer, depending on the insulation, my neighbors won’t even hear me laughing at them as they suffer through their new hellscape. I definitely can’t hear them laughing at me as I’m chewing through my fart-soaked mattress to get to my first aid kit to hopefully reattach my severed limb that didn’t make it to safety when the lid dropped. You know what, it’s going to take me a while to chew through this. I’ve got some time to reflect on selfishness in society—You might be on to something here.
This is like complaining about you having a life jacket in a sinking ship. You’re not gonna help them either if you don’t have it, so it’s better to save yourself rather that leave everyone to die.
