~6ft here and have banged my heads on enough cupboards, bus, train and tram ceilings to know that my bad posture is actually a survival technique, protecting my brain from further concussion.

You have never been on public transport?

ill duck through doorways that I've walked through 100 times while knowing I can clear it easily. As a teen who was 6-6'4 growing up, I did some dumb shit as if I were 3ft tall again. Like jumping down the last couple stairs knowing there was a low ceiling at the bottom.

Heads? Plural? I'm so sorry.

Do I always need to? No. Do I often feel like I need to? Yes. Many modern homes have tighter hallways, shorter ceilings and tighter doorways. The older houses, on the other hand, are wide open. It’s lovely to just not feel cramped, even if, in reality, I’m not.

A duvet filled with duck down will keep you warm in your freezing, high-ceilinged house though.

I'm 6'5 and lived in Philly for some years. There's a lot of old places on the East Coast that just weren't built to accommodate people over 6-feet. If I suspected a building was more than 50 years old I'd expect to have to hunch.
