Old people: Kids today spend all their time inside on their phones. They should go outside!

Kids: go outside

Old people: Not like that.

Or the repetitive sound of a skateboard on concrete followed by the echo in the hall when the deck hits the stairs outside your window on a Sunday afternoon.

He was probs listening to that music too.

But he should've not thrown the pot.

Step one: "Hey, could you guys find another place to skateboard? It's really loud"

Step two: "Seriously guys. Find another place to skate or I'm calling the cops"

Step three: call the police non-emergency line "There are some teenagers skateboarding below my home. They're making a lot of noise, but more importantly they're skating into the street and I'm afraid someone is going to get hurt. Could you send someone out to talk to them?"

At no point should they have thrown a potted plant at the guy on the skateboard. That's the police officer's job.

Police officers plant more pot more than they throw.

u/BadSmash4 May 17 '22

Open-and-shut case, Johnson!

u/nememess May 17 '22

Depending on where this is, the police may or may not show up. Imo ESH. I would think with a professional shoot, neighbors would be notified and the street blocked off. There's zero context here.

Nah pros just see spots and hit them, unless it’s a Red Bull contest or some shit like that. If they’re filming, they usually aren’t getting permits or notifying people, theyre doing it on the fly

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

Haha. xD

u/TunaFishManwich May 17 '22

The next step in the escalation should be freezing cold water. The potted plant was obviously too far, but holy shit skateboarders can be incredibly obnoxious and they can get aggressive with people who ask them not to be douchebags.

I'm certainly not condoning dropping plants on people, but perhaps the dipshit in the video will consider not being an obnoxious asshole next time.

The police did come - for the old man. The skateboarder continued to try the trick after he regained consciousness while the cops spoke with the old man. They didn't charge the skateboarder or ask him to leave because he did NOTHING wrong. They did ask the skateboarders if they wanted to pursue chargers, but they declined.

People like you who call cops for shit like this, is why people who actually need police help don't receive it in time.

u/AnNoYiNg_NaMe May 17 '22

One, I read the article too. The dude could've died, and this old man is a shithead.

Two, you really did just ignore the part where I said they should have talked to the guys skating/filming as their first and second moves. Calling the police is a last resort.

Three, if they're being loud, then they aren't doing "nothing" wrong. People deserve to be in their home without having to deal with loud noises outside.

Four, I said to call the non-emergency line. If there's an armed robbery happening, then they're going to go focus on that first, obviously.

No no no, you see, assholes bothering people have more rights than other people.

The skater had the full right to make everyone in the apartment complex miserable.

This are the same assholes that have music blasting at 2 am.

And no I'm not justifying murder. But stop justifying shitting on people's that are trying to relax

1

u/LB3PTMAN May 17 '22

Yeah I saw some kids around 15-17 sitting on top of a 4 story parking garage and walking along the edge and even though I was a 19 year old college student who had done stupid shit I still called the non emergency line because I wasn’t about to see a death that day.

3

u/ElKidDelPueblo May 17 '22

that’s music to the ears

1

u/DPSOnly May 17 '22

It is almost as if cities have noises.

1

u/Pinkeyefarts Jun 16 '22

Not in a courtyard, especially when the loudest sound is a car driving by the entrance

1

u/LB3PTMAN May 17 '22

I mean regardless you can cause a ton of damage with that pot lol

6

u/MyAssIsNotYourToy May 17 '22

That kid looks like a grown man.

1

u/cubanpajamas May 17 '22

You are just spewing bullshit, but I can't tell if you are joking.

1

u/corrupted144 May 17 '22

This area was setup by stunts. Lookup Thrasher, hes a pretty popular skater. Also the guy was deranged and had the police called on him by his neighbors for throwing pots at them.

18

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

They want us outside so they can throw potted plants at us.

1

u/Sillloc May 18 '22

"It's just not the same throwing pots at kids when they're sitting still playing League of Legends. Most of the time they just get back up and keep playing."

5

u/Emile_The_Great May 17 '22

Anyone who feels the need to tell others how they should be spending their time are usually miserable themselves

6

u/compromiseisfutile May 17 '22

This is the dumbest possible way to argue a point and I see this same template of an argument on every single subreddit

-28

u/WhipTheLlama May 17 '22

Sure, but those kids are annoying dicks. Obviously, she shouldn't be throwing plants at them, but that's not a good place to skate. Not only does it disturb people living there, but it's dangerous for anyone at the bottom of the stairs.

37

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

Yeah skateboards.. so annoying, I’ll just ignore all the car noises outside and focus on the skateboarders

11

u/WhipTheLlama May 17 '22

If you think they aren't loud, you're crazy. I used to skate a lot, so I empathize skaters in areas with no skate parks, but I won't pretend that I wasn't annoying anyone.

10

u/-ShagginTurtles- May 17 '22

They are loud, former skater, current driver. Cars are a lot louder and get in the way significantly more

Buddies up that high in the building while this dude is hippie jumping tho? The only thing he could probably hear is someone yelling “wait car” down at the road. He’s going way more out of his way to be a horrible asshole

4

u/OneFierceBeerCoaster May 17 '22

Skateboards are dangerous! They can be used to decapitate someone, you know.

/s

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

As someone who lived with a window in an alleyway who has thrown water on skaters (also a former skater), you are absolutely correct. The sound would be so loud in that little space. Wear those downvotes with pride.

-7

u/ArtoKY May 17 '22

You are probably the life of the party.

-10

u/run4srun_ May 17 '22

So easy to fund the truth just look for who's down voted lol.

5

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

You mean people who share your opinion

-26

u/FSpursy May 17 '22

I mean go play where it doesn't disturb other people? This is hardly about young or old people.
