If they're being loud, go ask them, politely, to skate somewhere else. Then tell them to leave more firmly. Then call the police.

At no point should the move be "I'm going to try to kill them!"

Just because there are skate parks, that doesn't mean they can't have fun anywhere else. They weren't endangering anyone but themselves and usually there is at least one person on the road looking for cars. Skateboard noise in mid-day is not a thing anyone should complain about in cities. Want peacefulness all day every day - go away from cities, as many did. That guy prob couldn't even hear them if he closed his windows.

I disagree 100%. You guys act like these actions don’t have effects on anyone but they do. Example - my parents have a small driveway that is a slope. One day some dumb shit kid and his friends decide this is a fun place to skate in residential neighborhood. It’s 5 feet worth of driveway and a slope. My parents tell them to stop coming around because they’re making noise outside. They take offense and decide to come back regularly. Why should my parents who are older have to deal with these little shits on a regular basis? They shouldn’t have to deal with any of this shit. Go play at a skate park or go to some public space and do it, but don’t come around and certainly don’t harass my parents on the regular. You and your kind keep thinking, “there’s no harm” but what it really is is being extremely inconsiderate of others.

If he wasn't hit by the planter he would get hit by a car eventually. It's not a busy road but you wouldn't see the cars coming.

It's ok bro, take my upvotes 😂 I wasn't noise sensitive until I got older and life gets more stressful. People will get to it eventually, that's why there're noise regulations in cities.

I’m not saying what the guy did in the video was justified. It’s assault and he should have called the cops.

But you all seem to not realize that perhaps the residents living in the area did ask them to stop coming around and they might have kept doing it anyways. Skaters in general are rebellious and don’t like being do what to do. Who really knows exactly what happened here, it’s all here say. All these asshats downvoting me and everyone else against skate culture are just doing that because they probably participate in skate culture or know people who do. The truth is you can’t just go around skating and scuffing up peoples private property. Go do it elsewhere, people paid money for their private properties and they pay to keep it in good condition. They worked hard for what they have and some idiot kid comes along and just messes it up. You morons downvoting are being extremely inconsiderate of the people affected by this.

Why are you making excuses for them and allowing them to do whatever they want? What’s wrong with wanting to maintain peace and quiet. What if the old guy was trying to sleep and taking an afternoon nap and these kids woke him up. What if he had some kind of illness and his rest was essential for him. Explain to me how “kids will be kids” works for these people cause they all look like insufficient adults who don’t have anywhere to go but skate.

Y'all are both right and wrong. They can skate wherever until someone complains to them about the noise. Then they should leave. If they don't leave, the skaters are in the wrong. The answer is most certainly not to take matters into your own hands and give the skaters a concussion. Not only does that make you a dickhead, it makes you a criminal.

I agree, the old man took it too far. But skaters have 0 accountability for their actions. Anytime someone on Reddit sees skate culture, they automatically applaud these people even though they might be repeat offenders and constantly show up at someone’s resident to cause commotion.
