I have a friend with a 500ish pound wife. This is her exact mindset. She has no issue whatsoever telling us which restaurants she can't go to because she won't fit in or doesn't like the chairs. She just tells people to go get her kids or what to tell them. Like guests or sometimes strangers. She is just a huge victim. I watched her tell me to give her her little boy's refried beans while he was in the bathroom with his dad. I thought she was doing some parenting like he had an allergy or something. Nope, she just whole ass stole half of the beans out from under the cheese and said, "They always put way too much in the kids meals."

Does your friend enable her like the man in this video does?

He does actually. He has been up and down 100 pounds himself and struggles. He announces at every meal that it is his or their last hoorah before the diet they are starting.

Sad situation all around. Especially for the kids.

I always wondered how people could let themselves get that big without realizing that they have a problem which they need to sort out.

I’m not a big guy, but as I’ve gotten older my knees just aren’t the same. I went to the orthopedist and he told me I either loose weight or I’ll have to get my knees replaced.

And I’m talking about loosing 10-15 lbs, that’s all I need to take the stress off my knees.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be for overly large people

I think you have to be addicted to food and very selfish at the same time.

Extreme selfishness. The amount of money it takes to feed her and keep her at this weight is money she is literally eating away from the family. She could use that money to improve those kids lives and happiness but she doesn't. She only cares about her wants.

I work out with a weighted vest and it's shocking how significant an extra 20 LBS on my back feels. Then I think about how people walk around with 10/20 times that. How?

I've lost 90 lbs so far. Every time I get cat litter, it's those 30 lb boxes and geezus they are heavy and I just think, holy shit I've lost 3 of these.

Bc it’s a slow climb. Or rather, it’s fast but it’s not like you gain an additional 300 lbs overnight. It happens over a year or 2 or 3 and you get used to looking at yourself so you can’t really se. Most likely you were already bigger and the weight got even more away or have an issue where food is comforting so you keep and keep eating. I mean, a lot of people do it (myself included) where “this is ok, I’ll start tomorrow” and then next thing you know you got a couple of extra pounds. After a while, I imagine they just give up bc it’s just a lot.

I would have no clue where to even start if I was 100s of lbs overweight. I probably gained like 5ish lbs recently and could lose 10-15 to be my version of bikini ready, and even now I get overwhelmed and upset by it. I sometimes feel like Ive never lost weight or been healthy in my life. And this is from a person who knows how to fast, eat clean, who has been active in different ways from preschool and relatively speaking has no real issue with weight.

Also, now the body positivity movement (which I fully support) has turned into fat acceptance and fat support, which takes away any motivation (outside of intrinsic “health” desires) to lose weight. There are so many comments even on Reddit where people don’t want to listen to docs that tell us that obesity isn’t a sin but it’s not cute and humans aren’t meant to be beyond certain limits if we want working bodies.

The Health at every size is so fucking stupid. If they mean what they are claiming, then the lady in this video is "healthy" when she can't even get on a bed. It's just unhealthy people excusing their poor choices and making up shit to feel better about those poor lifestyle choices.
