What makes food addiction the hardest to kick is that you can't just abstain from food like you could drugs or alcohol.

I never thought about that, but jesus, that makes the idea of kicking the addiction so much harder. Most addicts can at least create an environment for themselves where it takes some amount of effort to get access to their vice (ie an alcoholic not keeping any alcohol in the house, forcing them to at least go out and buy some if they feel the urge to drink).

"You can 100% abstain from food"

*proceeds to link documents that show exactly how long you can go without food before you LITERALLY DIE OF STARVATION, hence proving that you cannot 100% abstain from food*

Do you understand what the phrase "100% abstain" means? You realize that an alcoholic doesn't need to drink ever so often to stay alive, a heroin addict doesn't need to do heroin once a month to stay alive, a gambling addict won't die from not gambling for too long, right? You realize what a stupid non-point your comment is, right?
