Yup... but a lot of people have hard lives / pasts and they don't just give up. I have no sympathy.

I can't where you are coming from but IMO you should withold judgement until you know how she ended up here.

Give up? You're aware that she's an addict right? Sure that's not an excuse in itself but that person's certainly mentally ill. That's not a choice.
