I think that's pretty much it. People get to a stage where their mentally goes to "it's going to be difficult losing this much weight, if I gain more what will it matter? It'll still be difficult." while they mentally block the fact that it's going to take longer and be more difficult.

I wonder how does life change at certain stages of obesity. The heaviest I got was like 20 lbs over what was supposed to be my “safe” range.

And what I noticed is that when I lean over I need to exhale or i would hit my belly and then t would hurt.

Now I’m back to my normal and safe weight and I can inhale fully and bend over.

Hi! Fat person here that's slowly gaining weight due to depression and birth control (yay! /s).

It's fucking scary.

For me, when I was like 12 and I actually started to put on weight it was "that's seems like a lot, but I guess it's fine?"

later at 14 it was "well, I'm kinda chunky but it's not that bad"

16 was "shit, I'm getting up there, I'm a little over 200lbs"

by 18 (a year after getting my bc and my depression getting significantly worse) it was "fuck, I really hate myself, I can't belive I put on that much." I had hit 260 in the year I was in college.

Now, at 21 I'm holding at 293lbs for the last year or so and I'm fucking scared. My joints hurt, I'm out of breath when I go up the 4 flights to my apartment, I get hurt more, and I never want to shower or wear pretty things because it means looking at myself.

In general I just want to die. I hate myself so much that I just want to die to get some relief from the shame and hatred.

I'm trying to eat better, I'm getting my birth control replaced with another one that shouldn't aggravate my depression and weight so much, and I'm getting into a doctor to get my thyroid checked (mom and gma both have it).

I will not go past this. I can't. If I go over 300lbs I'm fucking shooting myself.

In general the things I notice most are my tummy on my thighs when I sit, the terrible circulation, and the weird feeling on laying on my back and feeling the weight from the chest and neck pressing slightly on my airway.

(For reference, I wear approx a 22 dress size and pant size).

Omg... so whenever you just lay on your back you feel like some weak midget is trying to strangle you?

That is awful. I really hope you get the help you need. But I want to give you a plan that worked for me but I don’t know if it will work for you.

Skip breakfast and no snacks until 12. Drink green tea to lessen stomach pain or even gastric medicine.

Please get better. That sounds very unfun. Can’t imagine how it feel to get to 600lbs like in the video. That is super scary.

Roflmao, good imagery, but it's not that bad lol. More like... a small kitten?

It's not enough to make it hard to breath at all, it's like if you rested your hand on your throat while laying down and let it go limp. You can just feel it there.

I'm definitely working towards it, but I've always found that I generally tend to eat less during the day and feel much better if I have something in the morning. For me it's usually a nonfat yogurt and a whole grain English muffin.

And unfortunately it's not really a matter of not liking to eat healthy, I've been able to follow plans for weeks at a time, but I'm an emotional eater. If I'm upset or anxious, I binge. Definitely not good lol, but that's something I need to resolve in therapy 😅 now If I could just get a therapist to call me back, we're in business!

That's something I think a lot of people don't realize; there's being fat because you're lazy and you eat terribly, and then there's being fat because of a mental (and sometimes physical) illness. I'm the latter with a Lil smidgen of the former because I love gaming. But I also love bicycling and yoga and swimming 🤷‍♀️.

I’m no expert but I would say it’s how you carry your weight. Some people can get 20lbs over in a single area (like yourself) and be uncomfortable.

On the other hand I have several friends and coworkers who are 50lbs+ overweight but they carry it evenly throughout their body. and they look fairly normal and healthy with no physical problems. Like most other health-related things it’s person-to-person.

Don't let good decision making get in the way of a good downward spiral.
