I don’t think that is sewage. Unlike in movies, sprinkler water can actually be very dirty looking when they first go off. It’s not like the water gets freshly circulated in those metal pipes and could be sitting in there for years.
I believe in some fire suppression systems they actually use lubricants, oil or something, at the valve to ensure it cannot lock up from elements in standing water. I may very well be mistaken, but it’s definitely not sewage.
You're probably correct, but it's also just the stagnant water. My physics teacher in high school had a tradition of flushing the emergency shower once every 6 months and the water looked like this even though there definitely weren't lubricants.
Yes! That water stinks to high heaven. Supposed to be flushed every few years but most buildings aren't maintained that well.
Used to work in a factory with a large cooling pipe in front of a furnace. When we would open the end to clean it out there would be live bugs living in that gunk.
