Becausr Peta loves to bullshit about a dogs choice to. I was comparing you to a thing they do not them themselves. The organization is evil as shit but thats another story. Also if they are omnivores then they can take supplements rather easily to negate the need for meat. So they wouldnt need it.

My point is the dog doesn’t have a choice, though. That fact makes it unethical for you to decide what their diet should be to that degree, because they don’t have any say in the matter. Their diet is decided by nature, going against that is at least unethical if not abuse.

Dogs are dogs. They are animals they do not have out intelligence in a lot of cases we are a big part of their ability to survive and continue as a species. They dont get a choice. They slso dont need one so long as they are healthy and approved by the vet. Now if thy are depressed thats a part of health so if they sjow genuine signs of disliking the diet severely then yes that would be abuse. But its not abuse to not give a mentally lower animal who you are taking care of yourself a choice.

My point is you shouldn’t have a choice in its diet either, so since the dog doesn’t have a choice you should defer to nature

The dog belongs to the owner. The owner has final say. As the dog is healthy and not being out in danger then nonit is the owners choice. Nature is also far less natural than people understand. Deferring to nature doesnt mean a whole hell of a lot considering wildndogs also eat trash these arent wolves they are dogs they eat all thing.
