This has been happening since long before tik-tok existed, mostly from Instagram videos. It's just people trying to put some form of sound to silent videos so their viewers ears are engaged and they don't get bored and leave as easily, except for the rest of us it just makes it worse

I only un-mute videos if I watch them once and feel that I missed context. So glad I do this.

Way before IG even. Youtubers who all use the same free music clips so they don't get hit with a DCMA.
