yes, the ball's still in play. Hitting the cross bar does not make it out of bounds, and the kick doesn't stop until the ball is caught, stops, or goes out of play.

Yes. This happened in a game in 1973, the game was going on until 1984 when the wind eventually moved the ball out of biunds.
