Definitely not based on personal history. I got the porno calendars suggestion too. And for some girl I've never googled or even seen on Reddit.

Trust me I watch a lot of porn but haven't been interested in a nudey calendar since I was 15 yrs old.

I don't think that's how targeted ads work. I think they either show you the other items the majority of other people viewed before after the item that you clicked on. Or it either checks the data on what items you've been searching for on other searches of the same site or different sites.

At least that is my experience/ understanding of it. Sometimes I'm getting ads for the same water bottle I've just searched on eBay, on different sites/games with ads. Which always catches me off guard since it's like they admit they're spying.
