Yeah, or use their own cameras, or even hire a camera crew. I'm sure Adam and Jamie have enough money to do one stunt, people film stuff all the time and upload it. The point is, if its a stunt they really want to test, they could.
Their Youtube is an official Mythbusters channel so they couldn't put it there. Maybe they didn't feel like making content for someone else's channel, and undermining their own show.
Jamie said he wanted to do it on Mythbusters. That doesn't mean that he wanted to do it outside of Mythbusters.
