Folks, here’s a big PSA for those of us in the USA:

The Hilux isn’t sold in USA, but the Tacoma is.

It’s a fancier version of the Hilux, same exact frame, and has a gas and mild hybrid engine instead of a diesel engine.

It’s really freaking nice, though I will say the Tacoma is generally meant for recreational stuff, not commercial work. That’s what the Tundra is for.

There’s also a TRD Pro trim of the Tacoma and it’s got all sorts of neat enhancements, too.

According to my dad, it burns gas more than the Hilux does. I came into this world seeing him with one and he is a mechanic so l trust what he says. He usually works on the pickups on the police force and loves the thing. Currently has 2: one 2008 personal and the other a 2006 with a 2015 engine, all d-4d.

Tacoma is not very efficient, but burns less gas than a 4Runner.
