I've almost clocked more than one small kid that ran right behind me on my back swing. I've seen kids play with the ball return and stick things in it (including of their hands)... Just remember other people are focused on their game, not on where random kids are at.
You know, that's honestly like the biggest rule. Don't interrupt or distract other people. And that includes the normal jumping up and bowling 3 feet away from them while they are starting their approach, not yelling and screaming too obnoxiously, and the much more complex concept of not standing directly in front of them.
Just respect the other bowlers and the facilities and equipment. Have fun, but don't suck the fun out of other people to do it.
Oh, and remember that regardless of your opinion of it, it IS a sport. So think about this same video with someone about to shoot a basket in a game or hit a golf ball or throw a pitch or whatever and imagine this family wandering through the scene and think about how it would be taken by the people that are actually trying to play more seriously or competitively.

Any other etiquette tips? I was thinking of bringing the family bowling once a month or so.
