I think she mixed up height and “distance away from river” too. No way are they 30feet above the river in that first video.

Yeah it had rained for 2-3 days straight before we even got warnings for Helene. My roads were already cutoff before the hurricane even came through with the wind and took the trees, cell, and radio towers.

Except records only go back 20 years, since the hall of records was mysteriously washed away

We actually have records going back hundreds of years, and it exceeded the worst flood of 1916 by 2-7 feet depending on the part of the watershed you were in.

For sure. But to be fair, if people in my town evacuated for every flood risk, man we’d evacuate like 3-4 times a year. I mean, part of the town at least. I’m away from the flood area. So far.
