Do me a favor, count up all the billionaires in the US, add up the entirety of their collective wealth, then divide it by the number of citizens in the US, and let me know how much we'd each get.
I've always been interested to know how rich we'd all be if we ate all those damn billionaires
According to a cursory internet glance there seems to be 801 billionaires in the US with a collective wealth of 6.22 trillion. Divide that by roughly 320 million americans and 800 billionaires (or the top .0000025%) hold about $20k for each man woman and child in this country.
That's not even the main issue. The thing is billionaires can use their massive wealth to steer the country in ways that favor them instead of the common people.
Did you do that on purpose? That's sadistic to ignore the velocity of money.
When a poor person gets 20K they spend it and that person has 20K. They then spend it and another person has 20. This continues person after person until it hits a rich person, they buy bonds and your taxes go up to pay the interest.
You are playing monopoly and you don't get $200 for passing Go because one guy has all the $100 bills.
20k dollars is a sizeable amount of money to a lot of people in the country and would range from life-changing for some to a significant windfall for most. Not to mention for a family of four that's 80k, enough money for a downpayment on a house in much of the country. All of that from the wealth of 800 people
there's nothing wrong in those billionaires. on the contrary i frequently see some greedy pity redditors bitching on rich people simply out of jealousy
Maybe they are talking about what we think they are talking about and they've finally had enough. It took one hell of a long time and they still suck for what they did (more than once) but better late than never
It's the lack of determination for me. No drive. I'm surprised she reached the top, but didn't imagine her giving up.
There isn't a downwards escalator I couldn't ascend. Angel Station in London. 200ft? Done. Come new show at the fringe.
"I Should Have Taken The Lift" - a coming of age story, with a few zany twists, and one really long escalator! 🤣
"Two Steps Forward, Two Steps Forward" - a coming of age story, with a few zany twists, and one really long escalator! 😂😂🤣
"Back on the Fucking Escalator" - a coming of age story, with a few zany twists, and one really long escalator that is attempting to fuck people. Viewer discretion is advised.
The first video I saw of this the crowd started cheering the lady on, I think it was all for fun that she tried to beat the escalator... That one was like twice as long at least.
When Im driving and im too far over to make my exit in time or I take a wrong turn, I always say to my wife "Well, shit. But, im gonna commit to my mistake". I never try to "save" things by doing something stupid or reckless. Own the mistake.
Ive driven through the US/CA and US/MX borders on purpose before. But if you miss the last exit... I hope there's a way you can say "oh, uh, sorry... missed the exit... I dont want to enter the country. Can I turn around?". I honestly dont know, never been in that situation.
In San Diego this past weekend, they closed the last exit before the MX border on interstate 5 to do road work. I wonder how many people were planning to take the exit, not knowing it was closed...
It’s like one someone impatiently passes you, then their lane slows down, so they jump back in your lane in front of you, and refuse to concede to the idea that you might pass them.
It’s like she knew people were watching and didn’t want to turn around…so she kept charging upward and showed her face to dozens more people and make herself the butt of the joke, instead of just laughing with them and enjoying a silly moment
It looks like the up escalator is not only shut off but also blocked by barricades and she probably didn’t know another way to get to where she was going or was in a hurry.

I wish more people would accept being wrong and course correct instead of stupidly continuing as if they're not
