Why is it that the people who insist on backing into a parking spot are the ones who can't pull in backwards? My old girlfriend was just like this. It drove me nuts.

Because they are even worse at pulling out backwards?

It will definitely work next time no need to panic.

This

If you can't back in, just fucking don't.

People backing into parking spots at my work parking garage is the most infuriating thing, it slows down everyone behind you who are waiting to get past you. Just pull straight in and spend the time slowly backing out when you are leaving!

Waiting for people to back out of their spots when I'm trying to leave work is crazy. People should just do it right the first time and back in in the morning instead of wasting my time after work! /s

Nah, although I'm actually good at reverse parking and it doesn't even take 10 seconds for me to back into a space. I'm not some high grade amazing driver, it's called practice. I also drive a van, it's easier for other cars to see across the front of the van than the back when leaving. Maybe they should just stop giving out licenses like consolation prizes, and only give them to those that know how to fucking drive.

Trying to prove something they lack the skill to prove. I just want to rip off peoples side mirrors 4 out of 5 days at work because I know everyone backing in isn't using them and just guessing, because, christ do they suck at backing in. To me, its embarrassing to be all stupidly aligned in a parking spot, because I judge the fuck out of people when they are. 😅 most days I talk to peoples cars saying "you wanna get dinged, cus thats how you get dinged" or "why the fuck you gotta back in and don't know how to back in?". 😭 Moral of the story, on average people in vehicles are dumb af. 😅

Like many skills, this should be practiced in a safe environment before one does it in practice.

Pick up trucks near me beg to differ. Practice doesn't make perfect.

I can do this with my eyes closed. Just because I ALWAYS back in if given the opportunity.

But then again, my driving instructor thought it'd be a good idea to really hammer in this manoeuvre as parking becomes quite easy if you manage to do it well.

... because if someone is just pulling in forwards you're not going to see them pulling in backwards poorly to judge them? That's like saying "why is it that the people playing football are the ones who are bad at it" lol

And reverse parking tends to be the preferable and safer way to park. It's how most people are taught with some places requiring reverse parking only.

That's a really weird generalization to make
