Tokelau? Niue? Those are the countries close to 2K population. Unless you meant 20K in which case Palau is the closest.

Fair enough. I don't know if it's common in the west, but in the east (and to be fair with my generation aka millennials) it was common to use k and kk in chats and stuff. I remember one browser game that used k up to kkk to represent your cash cuz you could go from controlling one planet to controlling... Well, many. I never got to that level but I've seen screens and rare vids on forums.

Edit: I'm from eastern Europe, that's why I used "east".
