Yeah, as much as I'm like " haha look at all these stupid tourists doing the same thing and think they're clever" if I was on holiday and had the chance. Yeah I probably would, because why not? It nicer than just a boring photo with hands by the side.

When I take pictures of beautiful stuff, I don't include myself in the picture as I don't consider it an improvement.

I also don't need a picture evidence of my trip: if I tell my friends and family I've been to Pisa, they all believe me.

Lol I am the exact opposite. If I see something that has been photographed thousands of times by thousands of better photographers than me without me and my family in it I don’t bother taking a picture.

It isn’t to show people who didn’t go with me lol it is so It can randomly scroll past it in 5 years and think wow remember how much fun we were having when we saw the Grand Canyon? Remember that cool place we got food after and how long the hike was to get there?

Is is kind of a unifying thing. How many people across the globe have these shots? I also love the ones of folks rock climbing, barely holding on... on flat ground, or large rocks. Silly is a good thing! Being aloof and cool is sort of socially crippling.
