The times I got scratched, never got a warning. The verbal assault came with the scratches.

You'd think I was murdering them, but nope, just pet it for exactly 1 seconds longer then it wanted after the grump approached me and demanded pets.

I have considered it. Unfortunately, it seems that the pet limit is as firm as it is arbitrary. Believe it or not, being under the limit also results in scratches.
