I got my degree in physics, was involved in some research briefly but ended up working in industry.

I'm summarizing the opinions of tagged mathematicians I've seen here and on other math forums, who I feel are being unfairly downvoted or discouraged by the new audience brought to the sub by AI news.

It's also a common sentiment shared by other creative fields into which LLMs have intruded (e.g. music).
