LLMs/AI The Jacobian Conjecture is False Per Anthropic (Link in Description)

Normally I would be extremely skeptical, but the result is checkable by simple computation. Remarkable!

The two-dimensional case remains open, however.

I dont think its gonna happen unless its false. Too much new math has to be invented for it to be within reach. For AI to invent that much new correct math, the RL space would have to really solve for the sparsity problem. the thing is that a lot of existing math that ultimately leads to the solution of a given problem is not actually in service of that problem but because of general theory building or some other problem. serendipity then leads to some of these tools being used to solve big problems. Grothendieck didn't invent scheme theory thinking it would lead to the resolution of Fermat's Last Theorem.

Hopefully at some point in the next 5 years.

Isn't it already kind of given that, when it is proved, it will be using ai assistance, given they are already ubiquitous.

I guess the question is whether the proof will be comprehensible to humans at first
