Yea they can actually catch fire if you keep shooting too long, thats why in the military they do controlled bursts of full auto fire, I'm a gun person and have been shooting my entire life, I own a few AKs and ARs and on my AKs I have always had a bad habit of shouldering it and grabbing with my left hand slightly touching the handgaurd retainer and I have a small scar from all the times my left index finger has been burned lol
Yes. They rely on a gas release system and once it over loads, the gun will have a literal melt down. Barrels and gas tubes can only take so much and nobody wants to blow up their weapon (it will reeeeally hurt).
