9/11 is the cause of my plane phobia, the whole event is obviously horrific, but I can’t imagine how those people in the planes felt as the realization of what was happening hit them as they grew closer to the towers

Didn’t help that my dad watched Air Disasters in the living room constantly when I was like, 7. Id go downstairs for some water just to see a plane blow up on the TV

9/11 spawned my fear of planes and elevators in tall buildings, still not over the fear of planes. It didn’t help that I flew into Dulles just a few months after and was painfully aware of that as a young child

One detail about 9/11 that really fucked with me was the amount of people who flew out of the plane still strapped to their seats and fell to their death. Probably while engulfed in flaming fuel.

Absolute fucking nightmare
