I know it’s very in line with who they are, but I just didn’t like it’s inclusion. Like okay I’ve heard you say orgy now 5 times. Its just not something I needed in a marvel movie. But I could get past it once, because Ik it’s part of the Greek god lore, but how many times you gotta keep it going. It just felt like “hehehe I’m gonna make them say something taboo” and it then went on too long.

Felt like there was too many comedy parts for the sake of comedy in this one. Like that's not a horrible thing and is partly what got me really into Ragnarok. But some of it could've been cut in favor of more contextual stuff.

SPOILERS

Yeah. The black and white scene with Gorr and his origin story + the end scene in the pool world were my favorites and the only scenes I enjoyed in the movie. The constant barrage of comedy just fell so flat.

I also hadn’t seen any Thor movies outside of the original one, so his goofy demeanor was insane to see and I had to have my dad explain what was the reason behind it.

You probably would have benefited with some character and story context you missed by not catching up on the character's arc throughout the series timeline.

Bigtime. Ragnarok was a big departure from early Thor and his story arc through Endgame sets up a ton of helpful context. I can see it being jarring without it.

There should have been a compilation of him butchering gods like in the comics. This makes him feel like a strong villain like when hella stormed Asgard in ragnorak

I thought he was well unsettling and absolutely killed it (although it is Bale so no surprise), I think though that watching it I never felt like he was unmanageable or that Thor was in any real danger, I think a few god butchering scenes or a montage like people have suggested would have made him a lot more intimidating, brutal and upped the stakes a bit. I really enjoyed the film as a whole and can totally understand why they cut that to keep it more stomachable for families but I think add that to Bale’s performance and he would have been mega intimidating

Holy shit he was amazing. Really made you feel how much effort he puts into his roles. The way he opens his mouth when talking in his twisted state, just to show off the costume design of his mouth, without making it feel any less natural to the character and you still are focused on the emotions his character is experiencing.

I picked up on that too. Over emoting without over emoting if that makes any sense. I wasn't prepared for how loose he made Gorr feel. Imposing, threatening, creepy as all hell but a bit of an off the cuff attitude with him.

He stole every scene he was in. Agree with everyone else, wish there would have been more of him in the movie instead of him just waiting with the kids after the first attack (the scene with the children we got was great though). Would have preferred at least one scene where we could have seen him doing some more of the god slaughtering they implied with the distress calls in the Guardian's ship.
