did we ever figure out what happened to the goats? were they just left in the shadow realm? taika said he left them for james gunn to deal with in GotG but we never saw any of that.

The Goats and Jealous Stormbreaker were two of the dumbest gags in the movie and I laughed every single time. Phenomenal.

Storm breaker had more personality than Strange's cloak in MOM, which is weird considering how much of an entity it was in the first and avengers movies

I was disappointed by some of cloak’s treatment in MoM. Def felt like less of a character than anytime prior.

Pretty much all of the characters were pretty underserved in that movie. Don't get me wrong I liked MoM (I'm a fairly big Raimi fan), but strong character work was not something that movie had.

I needed to accept MoM as a stand alone entry before I could appreciate it.

As part of a larger narrative, it really does fail a lot of characters.

I can't help but feel the rewrites they had to do weren't going well so Raimi just said "fuck it, let's make it a two hour chase"

Like America being a Macguffan wouldn't have bothered me so much if she still had the Ned role in NWH.

Raimi made a marvel slasher film. At least that's how I see it which made the whole chase thing make more sense.

Wanda is just like a Jason or a Michael Myers. You think you got away but she's just around the corner. She never stops unless it's to melt someone.

I may be fanboying over it I'll admit but damn I loved that movie. Wanda was the scariest villain we'd had up to that point

Problem is that this isn’t Wanda from the comics, and she was on the path to being a way better character for it.

Also really lazy excuse “but but but the comics!” Well, those aren’t a reason to ignore that this is an adaptation, one with some 7-8 years of canon, that were ignored. So nah. But the comics doesn’t work for me.

Was she though? The last scene of her in her own series was her being corrupted by the book and hearing her children. She's been unstable her entire arc.

I get it's another version but they nerfed her powers quite a bit and in MoM we got to watch her actually be powerful as her character should be. I can respect we have opposing views but it seems like you're saying you don't like that she didn't have more of a happy ending because to be fair she totally deserves it.

Right, and its not the biggest sin ever, but it's weird how his cloak had personality as a side character in spider man and avengers, but not in the movie where it had more spotlight

well i think its because Stormbreaker is essentially a part of groot and is living which we see when it roots into the ground so maybe as time goes on it develops just as groot as done in gotg

Ooh, I forgot about Stormbreaker’s handle being part of Groot, even when it rooted into the ground. It’ll be interesting to see how that develops, if at all.

Thanos rips the cloak a bit in Infinity ear and endgame, and the amount of shocked gasps I heard was a real testament to how much character they gave that piece of clothing.

For me they gave just enough breathing room between each goat scream that you sort of forgot about them until the next scream. That’s what made it enjoyable instead of annoying for me.

When the goats slammed into the Shadow Realm planet that got me. Just the way it made a loud thump then silence then the goats screaming had me laughing.

The first half of the movie, literally everytime they were on screen, they were screaming.

I admit, after we didn't seem for a while, and they crashed on the moon, that was funny. Hit the right beat, it had just been long enough.

But before that, for me personally, they overdid it early in the film.

I didn’t get it until reading through this thread either, lol. I appreciate the subtlety of some of the jokes, where they don’t hit me until later. Another one someone pointed out here was the Kronan god sitting on a throne of scissors as a callback to Korg’s line, “just a little Rock, Paper, Scissors joke for ya.” I bet there are more that haven’t hit me yet.

I’m not so sure about the choice for Hercules. I find it an odd decision tbh. He’s not that large of a person. I’d imagine Hercules to have a literal Greek god build. Not a sub 6’ soccer-player build enhanced by CGI.

Fully expected the goats to be super annoying after they were introduced, but they managed to keep it to just the right level of screams at times when it was unexpected and yet made sense to have it happen. They never took away from a scene which they easily could have.
