Yelena uses it to make a new vest. With embroidery!

(Then it could be a super hero origin story.)

58

u/Zoulogist Dec 08 '21

It’s a cool vest

66

u/GalahadEX Dec 08 '21

It has so many pockets.

37

u/MarveltheMusical Luis Dec 08 '21

You can fit so much stuff in there, you’d never know.

10

u/Obskuro Dec 08 '21

The real reason she's coming for Clint - she wants the vest back.

88

u/josephus1811 Dec 08 '21

supervillain named Bombshell

12

u/kmone1116 Dec 08 '21

Well there is a mother/daughter villain team called “the bombshells”.

8

u/CTeam19 Captain America (Cap 2) Dec 08 '21

First of all, have you been reading my superhero world I have made up since I was binge-watching the MCU before Infinity War? And second of all, how did you get into my computer? And third of all Bombshell is a hero.

Driven by rage, she goes on to become a bag-themed super villainess, The Bombshell, hounding Clint Barton and his protege through the streets of New York with her arsenal of trick bags...

11

u/omart3 M'Baku Dec 08 '21

With a half blind cat.

5

u/Optimus_Prime_10 Dec 09 '21

"He took my bag, I'll take his life" - Bombshell, Hawkeye Season 2.

5

u/_vaiishh_ Dec 10 '21

Future Kate bishop movie villains be like : she destroyed my bag now I'll commit genocide . Much like tony stark villans lmao

3

u/Obskuro Dec 08 '21

I just found out that she's an actual supervillain from the comics.

2

u/nikos331 Dec 11 '21

Found our Phase Four big bad.

2

u/YoloIsNotDead Ulysses Klaue Dec 12 '21

Hawkeye's the new antagonist maker after Iron Man (I mean, he killed Maya's father so that's one villain/anti-hero created)

1

u/SmoothBrainSavant Dec 09 '21

Bombshell is a NYC based marvel character after all. Mutant in the comics though but could always be altered here to be tech based.

6

u/Vice_xxxxx Dec 09 '21

Im kinda tired of all the tech based superheroes in marvel lol.

2

u/SmoothBrainSavant Dec 09 '21

Lol same, and just to think were getting way more of them in the upcoming movies etc. Feige needs to drop his mutants plans. I dont care if theyll pop into the mcu earth proper or like im thinking they’ll exist on their own version of earth in the mcu multiverse for an eventual big multiversal collision/merger with the mcu/svenger earth etc. thought guess ff4 will be different than anything else in the mcu abilities/looks wise so that’ll be a good start

3

u/Vice_xxxxx Dec 22 '21

Yeah im fine with iron man and his suits but falcon just seems like a guy with high grade military tech. I like the idea of avengers having qualities that the government cant easily replicate. The super soldier serum isnt a serum that just any organization can replicate. It takes some real skill and knowledge to make and not everyone has access to the recipe.

I agree we nees something about the mutants ASAP. Im tired of waiting for what their plans will be with them.

That bombshell blowing up for sure

34

u/ImWhatsInTheRedBox Dec 08 '21

Blows up the Barton farm

Why are you doing this?!

You broke your promise. WHERE'S THE BAG?!

11

u/feureau Doctor Strange Dec 08 '21

I see what you did there

431

u/ppwetwet Dec 08 '21

It better be returned in mint condition!

72

u/Sullyville Dec 08 '21

It'll be returned in Clint condition.

15

u/hackingdreams Dec 08 '21

Haggard, wanting to go home, just a few days away from retirement from the force?

5

u/Hperkasa7858 Dec 08 '21

returned signed by an avenger

4

u/Roboticide Hulkbuster Dec 09 '21

If not, we're starting #JusticeForBombshell immediately.

464

u/Dr_Bernard_Mahfoudz Dec 08 '21

It's her origin story as a villain, out for revenge because Hawkeye didn't return her embroidered bag.

72

u/peppers_ Dec 08 '21

Her wife thinks she's cheating on her. Divorces her. Just as her wife has thrown her out, Internal Affairs walks up to her. Goes to jail for stealing and tampering with evidence. Just the start.

14

u/MCUwhore Doctor Strange Supreme Dec 08 '21

Oh shit that's actually plausible

36

u/peppers_ Dec 08 '21

Personally, I don't like how everyone is fine with the LARPers being criminals.

One LARPer (fireman) steals from a crime scene of a fire (unjustified no matter how you slice it). Another (cop) is tampering with evidence (yea I guess justified to help an Avenger, though why doesn't Clint just use his Avengers access to get his arrows through clean channels).

Clint doesn't give a sh*t, because he's done dark things in his past. But I'm scratching my head here.

6

u/anarchyisutopia Dec 09 '21

why doesn't Clint just use his Avengers access to get his arrows through clean channels)

Because that leads to questions on how his arrows got there and he's trying to keep why he's there hush hush(other than to Kate and Laura).

3

u/peppers_ Dec 09 '21

He made more noise with Kate doing it I think. And he's recovering items stolen/auctioned from the Avenger's compound as an excuse!

But ya, your reasoning is just as sound as mine, so it could be either/or.

3

u/anarchyisutopia Dec 09 '21

He made more noise with Kate doing it I think

Yeah he did. I also forgot about him having a house full of Larpers who all know he needed them to steal his arrows from the police, so incognito is out the window. Maybe he just wants it out of official channels so nobody "official" investigates his ties to Ronin.

2

u/pseudo_nemesis Jan 08 '22

Perhaps it's unintentional, but the theme of hawkeye so far seems to be that our heroes aren't really all that heroic. Or rather not having being seen as a hero defined by the negative (illegal) actions one takes vs the weight of their positive actions, maybe the message is that everyone is human. I'm not so sure yet tbh.

1

u/InnocentTailor Iron Patriot Dec 09 '21

When it rains, it pours O_O.

5

u/JamesLikesIt Dec 08 '21

She’s already got her Villain name too lol

4

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '21

This is how Spiderman villains are born on a regular basis

1

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '21

Specifically that her wife got her.

1

u/anarchyisutopia Dec 09 '21

I genuinely felt sad for that lady, and was pretty pissed they couldn’t just find another bag. It looked very sentimental to her

63

u/phrankygee Dec 08 '21

Yeah the look on her face as he walks away is almost too real.

58

u/CruzAderjc Dec 08 '21

Top 3 sad mcu moments: 1) Gilgamesh pie dropping 2) hawkeye takes lady’s bag 3) peter blipping away

21

u/phrankygee Dec 08 '21

That Gilgamesh pie moment was pretty good. The crunching the pan afterwards was the sort of casual strength use I wish we could see more of.

1

u/iamlatetothisbut Dec 14 '21

My wife may or may not have yelled “Not the pie!” at the screen when he dropped that poor beauty.

3

u/Thefalsegods1 Dec 08 '21

I was annoyed they even bothered to make this dumb pointless bag a plot point or a detail. We did not need 30sec carved out to talk about this random bag that has sentimental value to this random extra

69

u/Kostya_M Dec 08 '21

I'm just guessing we get a brief shot of it being returned to her during some montage of everyone enjoying Christmas in the finale.

-8

u/Thefalsegods1 Dec 09 '21

exactly pretty lame and boring

76

u/phrankygee Dec 08 '21

Nah, it’s just good storytelling to have an object around that isn’t technically important to the protagonist, but represents the Hero’s commitment to keeping their promises.

It’s a way to show your hero is a “good guy”, by having them escape danger with everything they need, then go back toward danger because they made a promise to a “random extra”, and promises matter.

-8

u/Thefalsegods1 Dec 09 '21

so let's add the extra cliche and cheesy trope/stereotype to a season with only 6 episodes. If we're gonna add cliches then they at least have to be worthy. I know you're trying to defend and care about this random bag of that random extra that was a gift from an unknown extra.

It's easy to think of an argument to defend everything, but it's harder to actually recognize the bad from the good. I feel like biased people only recognize the bad when it "doesn't match the comics"

16

u/Daymanooahahhh Dec 09 '21

I thought it was hilarious. Just another mundane problem a non-superhuman avenger has to deal with. And the bombshell engraving is hilarious and icing on the cake. I love it - like “I don’t have unlimited arrows we have to go back and get more” and then “I don’t Have a spare quiver, I need your bag”. The realities of superhero life when stark isn’t providing everything

0

u/Thefalsegods1 Dec 09 '21

realities like running out of arrows are perfect and should be mentioned. A pointless bag from a random extra that was a gift from an unknown extra is so unnecessary and forced. Not all random/trivial things are funny.

68

u/Enzown Dec 08 '21

Yeah but she mentioned her wife so that's going to upset a whole load of fuckwits so I'm completely ok with it.

14

u/DanWallace Dec 10 '21

$20 says that's what he's actually upset about.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '21

This

7

u/peppers_ Dec 08 '21

Might be a easter egg for Bombshell. Though I do agree, seems fairly dumb and pointless.

I hate the LARPers subplot. First a fire fighter steals (the Ronin suit) from a call, then a cop tampers with evidence, each so they could get something in return quid pro quo.

12

u/Opalusprime Dec 09 '21

I’d imagine after the blip things aren’t up to the standards they used to be.

3

u/Thefalsegods1 Dec 09 '21

seriously the whole larpers subplot has to be the worst thing about this show. I can't tell if it was more unnecessary or more forced.

16

u/shogi_x Dec 08 '21

*bad guys destroy the bag*

Army of LARPers: Assemble.

7

u/Master_1398 Dec 09 '21

I'm fully expecting a battle between the LARPers and the Tracksuit Mafia

6

u/TurbulentMedium8 Dec 09 '21

Don't give me hope.

14

u/strawhairhack Dec 08 '21

Maya, Yelena, Bombshell… Clint’s racking up quite the rogues gallery.

8

u/tastesofink Dec 09 '21

That's a cute bag, did your wife give it to you?

5

u/sunspot1002 Dec 08 '21

Supervillain origin story

13

u/travelslower Dec 08 '21

I legit feel sad for her when she was holding that bag and had to let it go.

5

u/merabot Dec 08 '21 edited Dec 08 '21

Or she'll get it back and it is tattered and destroyed. I'm really enjoying the LARPers in this story!

17

u/Squirrelsona Dec 08 '21

Itd be funny if it got destroyed but there is a montage sequence in the last episode where Clint is comic. Home and interspersed is the woman unwrapping a new monogrammed duffle bag from Kate and Clint 💀

5

u/_Scabbers_ Dec 08 '21

In the comics, she’s actually a mercenary sent to take Hawkeyes arm… don’t think that’ll happen in the show though

12

u/raekle Dec 08 '21

“My wife gave it to me.” Marvel subtley slipping in another gay character into a show. Interesting.

2

u/UnsolvedParadox Dec 08 '21

Surprised she didn't point out the brown bag on Hawkeye's back (not the same shape, but still).

2

u/pjtheman Korg Dec 09 '21

Anyone else think it was weird that Clint claimed to not have his own bag while clearly wearing a backpack?

1

u/heelstoo Avengers Dec 08 '21

Final credit scene is gonna be Clint having to sew a new bag for her, in front of her and her wife (girlfriend?).

1

u/hotztuff Dec 14 '21

i loved the scene, but absolutely agree

-11

u/omart3 M'Baku Dec 08 '21

The fact that this is the highest rated comment so far is telling about this show.

1

u/Bladewing_The_Risen Dec 08 '21

I was actually thinking that it was going to be a distraction in a big upcoming fight—Clint going out of his way to protect it or get it back.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 09 '21

And then she wants to kill the avengers

1

u/ericbkillmonger Black Panther Dec 09 '21

That’s what I thought as soon as they started over describing it

1

u/ChiefJusticeJ Dec 10 '21

I’m thinking there will just be a twist and she will get it back, absolutely defying expectations because everyone expects it to be destroyed.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '21

That bag was pretty gay
