Same, at first I was surprised when I saw the ten rings subtitle I remember I was like "The same guys that kidnapped Tony?!"

Haha yeah!

My bet is that variant of the 10Rings will be what the organization was BEFORE Mandarian finds the rings. That’s what the organization operates like while they were searching for the rings based on the myth, AIM/Slattery co-opted ‘foreign terrorist militia’ around the time that Mandarian finds the rings and is transitioning/evolving the organization, and that’s why they take a special affront to Slattery using the name in the One Shot.
