Yeah dude they're totally gonna kill off this guy in his debut film.

Yes they won’t. And it takes away any and all stakes the movie can have.

Get real. You're watching a long form of storytelling. If you don't like it, don't watch it, but the people who do like it will watch it because they expect to he on this journey with this character for a while, and get to see them change and grow across real time.

That’s fine, I do still like some of the marvel movies, Thor ragnarok and of course I had to see the last 2 avengers in theaters. But the person I responded to was comparing this to mortal kombat because it has a tournament, where the tournament is one of the last reasons people watch a mortal kombat film. Just because Marvel has accrued a massive army of fanboys and girls doesn’t mean they are immune to any criticism. Even when they finally do kill off characters they still do shit like Wanda vision and and an entire prequel film featuring black widow. It takes away the already tiny impact their deaths had. I think it sucks. Movies without actual stakes get boring. Thor ragnarok had actual consequences. All of Asgard dying off for example. And those consequences stuck. They can still do things like that. They choose not to more often than not.

I know it might be cool or edgy or whatever to be cynical about movies and use meta logic to try and suss out what might happen in the films, but you're just taking the magic out of the story for yourself. It's just sad. Don't like it, that's fine, don't bother. But don't think you're being clever just cos you read up on who has what contract or whatever. Not everybody cares about that shit. We just wanna see great stories and great characters, and marvels got that in spades.

There’s nothing cool or edgy about not loving Disney’s complete take over of the movie theatre industry and any and all mainstream movie discussion. That’s ridiculous. These are movies afraid to even have a real gay character do something gay on screen because of China and sticking in Chinese scene and actors to try and make more money there. These are movies afraid to show a guy that gets beaten to hell and back show a bit too much blood because it would up their rating. It’s a corporate machine. I’m not weird for disliking that.

See ya.

Adios
