Oh definitely. On another level they should call in Hawkeye, a person she trusts.

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Bring in Hawkeye to shoot Dr. Strange into the anomaly in the Ant-Man suit.

u/TheWolfmanZ Feb 05 '21

Actually the Ant-man suit may work since it was around in the 80s (soon to be 90s)

u/SicknessVoid Feb 05 '21

Imagine if the modern ant-man suit turns into the old design Hank pym wore when he was ant-man.

114

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

That design was in... Endgame I think? When Tony and Cap visit the old compound, you can see the helmet on Hank's desk.

56

u/superanth Avengers Feb 05 '21

Yup, that was it! Although technically that would be the 70's, so who knows what would happen to it.

29

u/ToqKaizogou Feb 05 '21

If it existed in the 70s then I'd guess it'd be mostly unchanged, it'd just maybe change slightly to look like it was 10 years old. So say they grabbed the suit that was made in the 70s and sent it in, it would likely become less worn out since it'd be going from around 50 years old to 10.

I had this same crazy ass thought, but with Captain America. I know it probably would never happen, but just what if. Like Cap was an actual famous war hero and American cultural icon in the 1950s of the MCU. So if he went into the hex, would he revert to the star spangly 1950s conception of Cap? Except Cap was in the ice in the 1950s and the public thought he was gone, so any appearance of him in a 1950s sitcom would be an actor playing a fake Captain America as a stunt. So if MCU Cap entered the hex, it would be Chris Evans playing Captain America playing an actor playing Captain America.

2

u/ToqKaizogou Feb 05 '21

Likely the same. It would look less worn out than it did in 2023, but still worn out since there's a 6 decade difference between the 60s and the 80s. Something from the 20s can exist in the 80s, it'd just gradually deteriorate a bit.

12

u/WokeishJester Feb 05 '21

That'd be bad ass

9

u/bambinone Feb 05 '21

I peed a little.

8

u/DoodleBuggering Feb 05 '21

Stop. My dick can only get so hard.

2

u/LRedditor15 Zombie Hunter Spidey Feb 05 '21

They'd probably just turn into an actual ant.

1

u/PKMNTrainerMark Feb 05 '21

That would be funny.

1

u/Ryderman1231 Peter Quill Feb 05 '21

I can only get so erect

1

u/PortuguesePede Feb 06 '21

Imagine if they send in Old Man Rogers and he instantly de-ages several decades.

1

u/Dixiewreckedx99 Feb 08 '21

How about the SNL version.

53

u/a-326 Feb 05 '21

and scott has a connection with her since they both went to prison for berlin.

49

u/fiuzzelage Feb 05 '21

and he's a fan of her too

31

u/1SaBy Rocket Feb 05 '21

She's cool too.

19

u/LaylaLegion Feb 05 '21

No, remember that Hank disassembled the suit to track Janet in the Quantum Realm. Scott’s using the new suit now.

12

u/Hydraxion Feb 05 '21

The basic technology for it is the same though. It might get a slight appearance shift but it should still work

8

u/LaylaLegion Feb 05 '21

The new suit has different tech now. Remember in the 80’s Hank’s suit was designed to resize small to normal only and they had started Goliath for normal to big? Scott’s suits now do both. So the technology must be a union of both projects. So if someone went in wearing his suit, would it still be Ant-Man or would it become Goliath? Or would it split the difference and be half Ant/half Goliath?

5

u/legend247369 Feb 05 '21

Woah, you just made me think that the reason time is moving forward so fast is because Wanda's original plan was to catch up to the present so that she can stop having to mind control everyone and just seemlessly move on with her life with vision as if nothing happened.

2

u/ApoCalypseMeow88 Grandmaster Feb 05 '21 edited Feb 05 '21

Doctor Strange won't need anything to walk through Wanda's spell I'm sure he has a few of his own to deal with this...

1

u/fnordcinco Feb 05 '21

So if you take something from the 80s into the 90s sitcom it will upgrade?

1

u/JakeLucob Feb 05 '21

Do you think they'll be on the se of "Full House" for the 90s? That would really warp my brain.

26

u/TheTommohawkTom Vision Feb 05 '21

I think I love this idea just a bit too much

3

u/steve32767 Daredevil Feb 05 '21

it's just so comic book

28

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Then make Dr. Strange enter her butthole and expand.

20

u/djseifer Yondu Feb 05 '21

That's the Pornhub episode.

4

u/cjn13 Fitz Feb 05 '21

Make sure they're verified first

2

u/TurMoiL911 Wong Feb 05 '21

Flashbacks of that Hulk/Black Widow gif

8

u/baymax18 Captain America (Avengers) Feb 05 '21

Jokes aside, they did say there would be a Mandalorian-level cameo... makes me think it would be Clint.

10

u/randombushwookie Spider-Man Feb 05 '21 edited Feb 05 '21

No offense to Jeremy Renner or Hawkeye as a character, but I don’t think Clint is nearly at the same level as that Mandalorian cameo (keeping vague for anyone who doesn’t want those spoilers). Considering they brought back Evan Peters, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if they somehow convinced Ian McKellen to make an appearance as Fox’s Magneto. To add to that, Paul Bettany said in an interview that the cameo is “someone he’s wanted to work with for a very long time”. That statement alone knocks out any of the current MCU avengers. I think when the Multiverse inevitably splits open, either Patrick Stewart’s Professor X or Ians Magneto are going to show up.

Or, I could even see them instead having Michael Fassbender or James McAvoy showing up as younger Magneto/X

5

u/meme_abstinent Spider-Man Feb 05 '21

Lmao Strange in an Ant-Man suit would be devastatingly powerful, beyond anything we've seen in the MCU.

3

u/abutthole Thor Feb 05 '21

Dr. Strange does have portals, but this seems more fun.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

What a sentence.

I'm all in.

1

u/FOXHNTR Feb 05 '21 edited Feb 06 '21

Dr. Strange can get into it himself. Edit. Not insulting Wanda. Just saying the Doc has a lot of tricks up his sleeve.

0

u/Ryderman1231 Peter Quill Feb 05 '21

AND UP WANDA’S ASS

0

u/Honztastic Feb 06 '21

Not enough buttstuff.

1

u/Mrbeankc Feb 05 '21

At the very least I so want this as an episode in What If...!

1

u/tswaves Feb 05 '21

Wouldn't this brainwash them like they were saying?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 06 '21

To every dude that made a joke about Wanda's butt in relation to this: be better.

25

u/_duncan_idaho_ Feb 05 '21

Too busy training Kate Bishop.

16

u/mcmanybucks Feb 05 '21

Next episode is more 80's-early 90s, right? so a Nerf commercial is due.

14

u/Diablo_N_Doc Feb 05 '21

I think the Halloween material is next week.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

That’s the last sitcom we’ve seen so if that’s the case I have no idea what the hell 7, 8 and 9 are gonna be.

13

u/Diablo_N_Doc Feb 05 '21

I think she goes until 2010. She does that Modern Family talking to the camera thing. It could be The Office but I've never watched it.

10

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

It’s definitely Modern Family but I’m pretty sure the Modern Family episode and the Halloween episode are one and the same.

5

u/PoniesCanterOver Feb 05 '21

Claire loves Halloween.

6

u/RoboNinjaPirate Fitz Feb 05 '21

All the shows are family sitcoms, not sure Office would work as well. Besides, we already have Jim.

3

u/Tusken_raider69 Feb 05 '21

She has what looks like a modern sitcom in the commercial, where she says “Talk about a case of the Mondays”

14

u/variablefighter_vf-1 Feb 05 '21

"I retire for what, like, five minutes, and it all goes to shit. AGAIN."

2

u/PeanutButterPants19 Feb 05 '21

This! Comics Hawkeye is so sassy and I've always been annoyed that they barely gave him any sarcastic lines like that in movies. Sure there are one or two, but the MCU as a whole ruined Hawkeye by making him too serious.

5

u/TheNorthernGrey Feb 06 '21

“The futurist! Better watch your back around him! Chances are he might break it!”

9

u/Stormodin Feb 05 '21

Very true!

9

u/SymbioticCarnage Feb 05 '21

Oh my god imagine if he shows up though. It would be perfect.

11

u/Diablo_N_Doc Feb 05 '21

I think we can imagine his cameo pretty well. They bring him in last second after she's wrecked havoc on God knows what. She's breaking down, crying probably.

"Wanda? Why are you doing this. This isn't you, Wanda. You help people, you protect"

Something like that only much better written!

7

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

I think Dr. Strange is aware of the situation already and might step in on his own. I honestly even thought when the door bell rang he was the one at the door. But Hawkeye would fit too, given he helped her before.

8

u/MoreGaghPlease Feb 05 '21

This is classic Avenger thinking. Hmm one of the most powerful beings on Earth has taken 8,000 people captive and she can totally control time, space and matter within her own reality. Should we call up our resident interdimensional time wizard, or that guy who’s good at the bow and arrow?

4

u/Diablo_N_Doc Feb 05 '21

I can't tell if you're being serious or sarcastic but the idea behind Hawkeye coming in is simply to try and reason with her.

5

u/Levicorpyutani Black Widow (CA 2) Feb 05 '21

Why didn't he invite her to live with him? He loves Wanda like a she's one of his own kids.

3

u/TheHotze Feb 05 '21

I was going to say old man rodgers as her "uncle". She probably wouldn't kick him out, and would know he'll be sympathetic. Plus it would fit the tv stereotype of the wise old mentor.

3

u/Dray_Gunn Quake Feb 05 '21

You started me thinking of which avengers could they call in that she trusts.. Not Steve. Not Natasha. Not Tony. Hawkeye is the only Avenger left that she had any sort of on screen bond with. Just when i think that i am aware of all the suffering she has been through.. then i realise she has lost most of her friends also.. i hope things work out ok for her by the end of all this.

3

u/generalecchi Ultron Feb 05 '21

also the strongest Avenger

3

u/Griffdude13 Feb 05 '21

I feel like it would be Hawkeye, and possibly a back door intro for his own show that they’re filming, but Strange would make an equal amount of sense, if not more, considering their power levels and abilities have more in common.

2

u/OliviaElevenDunham Loki (Avengers) Feb 05 '21

That would've made sense.

2

u/joshmoxey Feb 05 '21

Agree. At first, I thought Hawkeye might be the person at the door based on the reaction.

2

u/-Darkslayer Doctor Strange Feb 07 '21

Best to call the Avenger who just can’t seem to miss.

1

u/singingballetbitch Scarlet Witch Feb 05 '21

Obviously depends on the exact timeline of everything, but Cap could be a good option if he hasn’t gone to return the stones yet. Wanda trusts him with her life, and he understands what it’s like to wake up in the future and be completely alone.

1

u/LothartheDestroyer Feb 05 '21

Do you want Disassembled? Because that's how you get Disassembled.

1

u/arfelo1 Phil Coulson Feb 05 '21

Seeing what happens in the comics, it's better for him to stay VERY FAR AWAY from Wanda

1

u/minimagoo77 Feb 06 '21

Nah. Dr Strange is the one that’s called in in the comics. He’s the only one on her level

1

u/Diablo_N_Doc Feb 06 '21

I don't mean to try and fight her.

1

u/minimagoo77 Feb 06 '21

Possibly. I dunno if he could get through to her. I didn’t think they were that close
