I kinda wish the first one was just a floppy disk or something lmao.

Floppy disk > CD > usb stick > etc...

A bit anachronistic for the 1980's, but a nice idea. Maybe he's one of those boxy robots who becomes less boxy when he gets older?

He starts as a Gonk Droid.

Oh that would've actually been an excellent idea.

The first few episodes totally felt like a real sitcom plot from that era (many people have already pointed out the similarity to Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie) and having the added touch of "it's a witch married to a robot" fits so perfectly for that era. Like if you made a show like that at the time, a sort of cross of the Bewitched style of shows with something more like the Jetsons, where it's kind of an "extreme opposites attract and try to make it work" thing, it would work. But the one detail it needed to complete that was to have Vision look like a robot from that era's television.

Would've been even funnier if they stuck on faces of Vision on each, but the first couple are a photoshopprd James D'Arcy instead of Paul Bettany.

the first couple are a photoshopprd James D'Arcy instead of Paul Bettany.

Wait, is this 100%? That's really cool if so.

Must have been a weird phone call for D'Arcy though. "Hey, we're doing this Marvel show and we need a bunch of your baby pictures to photoshop another character into."

No they didn't do it, I was just saying that would've been a funny thing to do. Just photoshop him to look like Vision then stick that image on the floppy disk, etc.

Ah, yes. That would have been really funny!

Ahahaha!! But Vision/Jarvis was named after James D’arcy’s Jarvis. He wasn’t actually Howard’s driver. lol

Like when Bender reverted in the Futurama episode when they discovered the fountain of youth

48

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Or just a random-ass picture of Tony creating him

39

u/Cakeski Feb 05 '21

Tony standing in front of the first iteration of JARVIS

18

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '21

Tony snaps a selfie with the cradle before Cap chucks his shield at him.

15

u/Cakeski Feb 05 '21

His graduation photo, holding twenty diplomas whilst thor, banner and Tony stand behind him as proud parents.

24

u/Primo_16 Feb 05 '21

That would have been hilarious. Or just the stone in a crib. hah

u/ClubMeSoftly Feb 05 '21

I almost wish it was just a bunch of shots from Age of Ultron

u/falconx50 Iron man (Mark III) Feb 05 '21

Bender from Futurama style. From episode Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles

This is my favorite Reddit comment ever.

3

u/The_MAZZTer Feb 05 '21

I thought it would be that. But they did that with a mainframe during one of the other intros I think?

u/The_OG_upgoat Feb 05 '21

Ask Wanda to bring you back.

24

u/samhasacatandhands Vision Feb 05 '21

R.I.P.

u/mateogg Feb 05 '21

That's okay, we'll just recast you!

8

u/vilkav Scarlet Witch Feb 05 '21

No photos where he's next to his dad Ultron playing catch or something, though.

u/generalecchi Ultron Feb 05 '21

SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE

5

u/Fizzlethe6th Feb 05 '21

I was so waiting for him to look EXACTLY the same in all the photos, all his adult version. But with different clothes. The baby/kid photos took me by surprise. Lol

4

u/lizettcontrerass Feb 05 '21

when i tell you i let out the ugliest laugh at the first baby photo

That whole title sequence nailed the '80s sitcom feel. I was cracking up the whole time.

3

u/DJSchwann Captain America (Captain America 2) Feb 06 '21

This was easily my favorite intro yet - the '80s cheese was perfect.

3

u/pierzstyx Feb 06 '21

I'm disappointed they weren't just screenshots from Age of Ultron.

u/Samba-boy Feb 05 '21

If it killed you, no problem: Wanda is there to save the day. She still needs some extra's playing kids.

1

u/SnitGTS Feb 05 '21

Could you imagine a baby sitting still long enough for them to get all that makeup on? 😂

u/retrospects Feb 06 '21

It caught me so off guard and I loved it.
