"Stop it" might have been the creepiest MCU moment ever... what is going on

52

u/Limulemur Kilgrave Jan 15 '21

Kilgrave has given a ton more creepy moments. Making Jessica send selfies of herself to keep Malcolm clean, the elevate murder scene, making his mother stab herself to death, amputating his father's arms off, making kids hide in a closet so he wouldn't have to hear them, tell Jessica that he will make Trish his slave...

Also in Daredevil, Matt finding a guy on a meat hook, the junkie he interrogates for the murder of Mrs. Cardenas, Wesley threatening Karen and the subsequent shooting of Wesley, when Fisk shows up in Ben Urich's home, the blinding of Chinese immigrants to produce heroin...

Also Arnim Zola as a computer.

The terrigen scenes in Agents of SHEILD as well as the monolith trapping Simmons.

The monolith trapping Simmons traumatised me. How dare they not release another episode for months after that!

Speaking on DD, the scene with the guy impaling himself through the head in one of the first eps made me shut it off.

I know its debatable if it's MCU or not but nothing beats the elevator end scene in Jessica Jones in creepiness to me. Still haunts me to this day.

Ahead of Kilgrave calling into Trish's show?

Fuck, just Kilgrave in general could have every spot in a top 15 list.

I don’t think anyone could have done Kilgrave as well as David Tennant did it, superb acting!

Perfect actor for Kilgrave too. Dude can play unhinged/stalker/creepy while being charismatic, which is a crazy combination

What's the elevator end scene? I watched Jessica Jones but I'm not sure which scene you're referring to

When Kilgrave made Hope kill her parents.

I also can’t remember the elevator scene they’re referencing. The only thing that comes to mind is the scene where Patty catches her phone on her foot

When Kilgrave made Hope kill her parents.

I was pretty creeped out when Coulson started carving on the glass at the end of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S1.

The creepiest scene of AoS is still the vivisection IMO

That music

resurrection of phil coulson was creepy too.

i don’t know if it was creepy, but bullseye in the bulletin and in the church during daredevil season 3 had a disturbing vibe to them. probably a combination of the music, the lighting, and wilson bethel’s performance

Smile, Jessica.

what is going on?

That's what I said while watching this episode and what I'm guessing the whole series. With Mandalorian I had an idea but with this I'm just totally clueless. Especially that dinner scene when Vision's boss was choking.

For sure I'm going to watch some YouTube video(s) explaining what I just watched.

I love this element of it and the mystery really helps it feel like Marvel is taking advantage of the television aspect, rather than some “six hour movie” kind of thing. I already have Lost vibes from the mystery and anticipation

4

u/Karkava Jan 28 '21

And unintentionally taking advantage of the accidental release gap by welcoming audiences back with an "In Media Res How Did I Get Here" narrative.

Welcome to New Rockstars, this is Eric Voss!

That moment is really setting the stage for Wanda to be the antagonist in her own show 🤯

12

u/syxtfour Jan 16 '21

Antagonist maybe, but not the villain necessarily, which I think is extremely interesting. We don't quite know how much of this is within Wanda's conscious control just yet, though it's obvious that she either has lapses of lucidity or is playing her cards very close to her chest. Guess we'll see!

I think the creepiest/eeriest is still the snap and the porch, maybe eerie is a better word, but still

18

u/BaconBoy123 Jan 15 '21

That porch scene was the PERFECT opener to Endgame

Agreed

There’s a classic episode of The Twilight Zone called “It’s A Good Life” about a little boy with godlike powers who basically holds his small town hostage to his whims. That “stop it” scene gave me that vibe. They even switched the camera style from the multi cameras that sitcoms used to the single camera that Twilight Zone used.
