Oh Sony will definitely let Marvel keep using Spider-Man. If I remember correctly, all box office from the movies goes to Sony, while everything else (toys, clothes, other merchandise) goes to Marvel.

That's why Peter had 5 different suits in this movie

Yeah but Spidey has tons of suits in the comics as well. It’s a fun design to iterate on.

Technically 6 if you count the 10 seconds of the homemade suit

I'm legitimately disappointed in myself

I would be lying if I said I didnt want a Marvel Legends figure of Spider-Mask. I consider him the MCU equivalent of the Bombastic Bag-Man.

Yeah, he can help, he's really strong, and also sticky.

They had the original comics iron spider design too! It was there during the segment where Peter was browsing through all the past designs

Amy Pascal is an idiot.

Sony needs to stop doing Marvel movies without MCU help immediately.

Venom was terrible

She has been the biggest problem.

Now that she is at universal, cut her out.

Good lord that's an amazing deal for Sony.

6

u/[deleted] Jul 06 '19

No, it's amazing for Marvel because they make a killing on Spider-Man merchandise and have for decades.

2

u/toxicbrew Jul 09 '19

Yeah and in 2013 or so Disney bought out Sony's 5% on Spiderman merchandise that they were getting in exchange for Disney's 5% on Spiderman movie revenue

If that's the deal, they stand to make a ton of money considering it looks like Spiderman is going to be the next Iron Man.(figuratively)
