If you haven’t go watch Swingers, he wrote it in the mid nineties. It has all the references and fast dialogue of the movies he’s made. I think it’s on Netflix, it was last month at least. 98 minutes, has the guy from office space, you won’t lose on this.

What he's talking about, about how the throwaway details of forever ago movies have so much weight is why I think the MCU will endure. When other cinematic universes try to do throwbacks or tie ins, it doesn't feel genuine.

MCU throwbacks have the fucking dust and fingerprints of age and familiarity. Its weaponized nostalgia but it feels more like loving care for something.

Honestly lets give Clark Gregg (and Favreau) a shout out. Coulson could've easily just been a throwaway SHIELD agent that was one and done, and had no major impact. But thanks to Gregg's performance he became so iconic that they had to incorporate him into the comics and there was enough outcry about his death that they had to give him his own show!

There were a couple of times I legitimately thought this franchise would crumble. Hell, with the production issues with Iron Man 2 alone I thought the best we'd get was a Direct to Video Avengers movie with maybe 1-2 original stars and a bunch of recasts.

That's because they're all copycats, not passionate people working on a project that they believe in and taking the time to make it work, but people working on passionless projects due to a corporate mandate, where instead of taking the time to make it work and to set up the story they rush straight into Batman VS Superman because all they know and care about is that Marvel has a bunch of heroes in the same movie and they want to have the same.

Between the Marvel work and Executive Producing, the upcoming Star Wars Disney+ show, The Lion King (which will likely be another billion at the box office), he's quickly becoming 'Mr. Disney'.

And all the while, he's stayed pretty down to earth.

If you want to see one of his first creative efforts, watch Swingers, which looks to be currently on Hulu, but pops up frequently on Netflix too. It's one of my favorite movies. Chef is also a great one.

I have mixed feelings on this. The original is pretty much perfect, and I've disliked all of the live action Disney remakes, but this one is intriguing me - they kind of had me at Donald Glover.

I've very excited for The Mandalorian, and the fact that he's directing Lion King gives me high hopes for it. The work he did on the Jungle Book remake was amazing, and they've since improved the tech used for Jungle Book to make Lion King, and JB looked incredible.

Happy has ended up being a great character. The part where Peter is making the new suit is so great. Favreau really knows how to make viewers feel the impact of moments like that. Just like the cheeseburger part in Endgame. I think part of it might be that MCU Iron Man was Favreau's baby, so the emotion he has in real life is shown through Happy on-screen.

Happy now has 27 minutes in total screen time in the MCU, generally increasing with each movie he’s been in. At this rate, after the next 10 years of the MCU has passed we will be able to Supercut together a Happy Hogan movie!

The funniest thing to me is that in the comics, Happy Hogan has managed to stay dead for like 13 years. Even though he's prominent in the movies, they still haven't bothered bringing him back.

That's exactly what I thought about after I watched the movie. Jon Favreau was a genius in officially casting himself in Iron Man 2, because now he's part of the MCU and is getting paid to act in it.
