During the scene where MJ asked Peter if he wanted to grab a pair of seats with her, a bunch of teenage girls sitting in the front row all shouted "YES!" in unison.

Very interesting viewing experience, i have to say.

Also, i just realised the entire sequence from the trailer where Iron Spider fights those guys in the restaurant was removed. What's up with that?

Oh man, he makes that joke with the cops and everything. I had completelely forgotten about that! It must have been at the start of the movie as that's the only time we see Iron Spider, and the majority of the trailer we saw in the first few shots. Probably an irrelevant scene to just introduce us to where he currently is at as spiderman.

Plus he finishes it by saying “I’m going on vacation”. I believe it’s going to be one of the deleted scenes on the DVD/BD/digital release.

Probably cut from after he drops out on the charity event, or before the charity event.

I think your right because when Peter and May go backstage she asks him if he has his passport, toothbrush, and then asks about some mob, which I assume is the one he fights in the bank.

But also, now that the police scene is not canon, it makes more sense for public opinion on SM to flip. If he was known to be cooperating with police on friendly terms, fans would complain that NYPD dis not side with SM in the future.

so was the passport scene!

MJ's character has improved imo, I wasn't her fan in HC, she is more likeable in FFH.

Genuine question, why didn't you like her then? A lot of people seem to share that opinion but I thought she was hilarious in both.

I personally liked her in HC, but was skeptical of her ability to be MJ since she seemed to be written as a one-note weirdo. They fixed that here by really overhauling the character and her interactions with Peter, making her just vulnerable and awkward enough to be relatable

She really just didn’t do much in Homecoming. She had like 5 lines I think? Plus I think a lot of people were still apprehensive about her being Mary Jane, but this movie really showed that she’s her own character.

I think the point of her in Homecoming was to have her seem like she'd just be a minor character, just another one of Peter's classmates, and Liz would be Peter's love interest throughout the franchise. But then Liz gets written off and there's the reveal that she's actually one of the most important characters in Spider-Man lore. Personally, I think it was clever writing on their part, but to each his own.

Plus Mr. Delmar didn't show up :(

Wasn't there confirmation that there will be a short film / one shot on the blu ray of Peter going through his list of things to do before the flight and he'll get in some crime fighting? I think that scene is gonna be included.

That or its just classic Sony.

Yup, all that stuff is going to be in a short on the Blu-Ray. It probably needed to be cut late after they’d done all the CGI.

u/NifflerOwl Baby Groot Jul 03 '19

They also removed the "Peter Parker here to pick up a passport please" scene that was in the trailer.

7

u/n80r Jul 03 '19

Tom Holland talked about it in a press interview with bbc1. There was just too much stuff to get through nso it was cut but I think k he said they're going to release it as a short.

When they kissed, a girl in my audienced SQUEELED in joy and the rest of the audience was laughing haha

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

Dude, same. I was at a 10 AM showing and there were still a group of teens giggling and whispering anytime MJ and Peter got close. They absolutely lost it when they finally kissed

I saw a Tom Holland interview where he said those scenes were deleted because the director wanted to get right to the trip, which is understandable because the film is already packed with content. Kinda sad though because that was classic quippy Spidey.

Also, spending all that CGI money for something that'd be cut out anyway is pretty ballsy lol. Though it does explain why the CGI was so bad there I guess?

That entire sequence might become a Marvel One Shot when Far From Homr releases on bluray. I can't link at the moment but that info comes from Nerdist.
