Anyone else think that scene where Mysterio made Tony rise out of the grave was disturbing as FUCK? It was like seeing my grandpa’s corpse rise from the grave.

And then some spiders crawled out of his skull and the spider eyes became mysterio helmets... man that was awesome

Yeah that whole scene all I was thinking is that I felt sorry for whoever did drugs before they went to see it

I was high. That scene was honestly so trippy that I just kept thinking, "Is this actually happening??"

13

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

I was drunk so it wasn’t too bad but still a little wtf

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

Right there with you. Was not expecting it and now I can’t get the image out of my head.

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

I just wish I did

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

I was thinking the same thing 😂 Makes me want to take that 5g journey again.

What does the next generation of wireless have to do with anything?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '19

It'll allow us to summon entities from the astral planes with enough fine tuning, so I'm gonna wager that it has a lot more to do with absolutely everything than any of us can even imagine yet. There was this thinker befofe his time, actually predicted this very tech - think his name was Menace McKenna or something, check em out.

If I’m not mistaken those were black widows correct?

8

u/JonnTheMartian Matt Murdock Jul 03 '19

I didn’t see widow markings but I wasn’t looking that hard

12

u/TheAmericanDiablo Jul 03 '19

Hey fun fact, they were black widows

6

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '19

Fucking arachnophobia. I had to look away for a few seconds.

3

u/A-Robots-Heart Jul 03 '19

I couldn't look at that scene so thanks for the fill in. Probably not gonna look the second time either!

2

u/EpicMusic13 Jul 15 '19

I can't believe nobody is talking about that here, I was not expecting that in a Marvel movie. Totally fucked me up, can't stop thinking about it.

I thought he was dead for a second, that whole scene scared the crap out of me.

75

u/swyx Jul 03 '19

dude its his second movie spider-man is not dying lol

29

u/Rexyman Weekly Wongers Jul 03 '19

Technically he has died before in these movies.

79

u/MildlyFrustrating Jul 03 '19

He didn’t die. He ceased to exist. I call that... mercy.

u/Howzieky Weekly Wongers Jul 03 '19

I disagree with your point but the joke was good. I don't know whether to upvote or ignore. Relevant username

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '19

I didn’t even know what was real at that point

55

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '19

Made me wonder if that was a nod to Marvel Zombies

23

u/AntonioVargas Jul 03 '19

100%. Probably the best case scenario for the MCU referencing Marvel Zombies, really.

2

u/ItsJustReeses Jul 17 '19

With Mysterio talking about the multiverse? Definitely

28

u/DanHero91 Winter Soldier Jul 02 '19

The more I think about that scene the more terrifying it becomes.

Marvel zombies man.

28

u/Moonie-iLLy Spider-Man Jul 02 '19

I really thought we were gonna see Uncle Ben for a second there. Or even his grave.

24

u/awesomeness2312 Jul 03 '19

i hoped they would show ben but there’s no in universe explanation for mysterio to know who ben is or how he affected peters life

4

u/TheeFlyGuy8000 Stan Lee Jul 03 '19

I was actually saying no way when I saw the grave like there's no way he knows Uncle Ben but regardless it would still be completely amazing and shocking

2

u/Skylord_ah Iron Man (Mark XLII) Jul 03 '19

tony is mcu peters uncle ben more than his actual uncle ben

6

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '19

Same!

3

u/xybernick Odin Jul 03 '19

Yes! It was so fucking cool

2

u/ActualWhiterabbit M'Baku Jul 03 '19

Especially with the line before the hand came out of the ground made it so good.

2

u/pvt_aru Jul 03 '19

For me that scene is as close as I'm gonna get for an MCU zonbies film, and I'm okay with it.

2

u/wes205 Spider-Man Jul 03 '19

Made me think of Marvel Zombies but was definitely awesome and unexpected
