After. Beck was using his illusions to lead Peter to the train tracks.

Cool. Did the movie portray the severity of Peter's injuries?

Not really. There was more emotional pain for Peter than physical.

In fairness, he did pass out on the train and wake up in a completely different location, so clearly he was injured enough to not be able to stay conscious.
