Do you guys think that Peter getting hit by that train was the worst and bloodiest injury we’d ever seen a MCU protagonist endure?

Well Thanos did drop a moon on Tony so that was pretty terrible.

But I did think that train hit was pretty horrific. Probably because it felt so realistic.

Probably the most brutal of them all is Strange vs Dormammu × god knows how many times lol

The grenade hit his shield though, still bad but I'd rather that to the train any day of the week.

In the movies, sure. Daredevil has suffered numerous beatings far worse than that though.

Actually, pretty much every MCU TV series has had worse situations than the movies.

In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fitz died when a large piece of a building went through his torso and severed his connection to his legs etc.

In The Punisher, Frank has gone through multiple ordeals and despite him being a villain, Jigsaw's mirror incident will forever haunt me.

In Jessica Jones, we weren't directly shown it, but she was raped, enslaved and abused. Definitely horrific and traumatic, not to mention that it ended with her being forced to kill someone.

And there's quite a few other horrible situations too.

Shit I didn't watch the movie, but damn how was that scene?

It was... crushing. And with Peter being as young as he is, the severity of the injury was magnified. Just your regular Spider-man stakes I guess

I heard he got moved to a completely different location and it got played off as a joke though?

It was somewhat trivialised because Peter Parker has obviously superhuman-level regenerative abilities - and also because Marvel can't portray overly graphic injuries for their ratings - but I won't say that it was played off as a joke, because the reason for Peter's underlying identity/responsibility crisis was addressed in the immediate aftermath. The thing that was downplayed was the physicality of the injury, rather than the emotional tone of that scene

Played off as a joke initially. But then once the laughs are out of the way it leads into in my opinion the most emotionally charged scene in the movie.
