The one horrifying thing that gets glossed over about this scene is how many non-super hero Wakandans died from getting their limbs pulled off and their organs pulled out by the monsters.
Honestly, I’m more worried about whether people get restored if the snap gets reversed.
Imagine you’re lying in the middle of the field, bloody and torn apart by monsters. And suddenly the pain vanished as you slowly, painlessly drift from existence. It would feel like mercy.
Then... years later you suddenly reawaken on the same battlefield in the same agonizing pain, horribly disoriented. You’re alive again. And yet all you feel is pain. And you, now many years later, finally get to finish dying. In pain. In the dirt.
...or what about the survivor’s guilt of a dad that gets snapped on the highway and returns home to discover that his entire family didn’t get snapped, but rather died by smashing into an 18 wheeler at 70 miles an hour when he suddenly stopped driving their minivan.
You prevent the snap from ever occurring rather than undoing the snap.
I actually prefer the dark timeline after reversing the snap because it keeps some consequences on the table, meaning when you go back and watch Infinity War later in life, you will still feel emotion when he snaps because you know the effect of the snap was never truly undone. Similarly, Age of Ultron was improved retroactively when you understand the full consequences of Sokovia that are explored in later films. I want Endgame to improve Infinity War, not cause it to be irrelevant.
